Would Tonight Be The Right Night To Tell You I Love You
by Hana Meron
And the mosquitos. And the heat.
The slow strains of Sade floating out the window.
You are silent, washing dishes by hand next to the
open dishwasher; it relaxes you. I brood out
the open window, relishing the heat & imagining
a breeze. We loved each other, I know
we did. The city thrums, potential wide open
as the night. The dishes drip into the rack.
I love you, I whisper under my breath, out the
open window. The city absorbs what I mean for you.
